Towards Better Education for Our Language Learners Through DRGC Activities
The future of our world lies in the hands of our children. The lessons we provide them today shape the actions they will take tomorrow, emphasizing the vital importance of global impact as a top priority for all educational institutions.
It’s safe to say education in Jantar doesn’t solely rely on teaching our students a desired foreign language. Instead, we aim to equip our students with the skills they might need as the next generation responsible for making our world better. If you’re part of the Jantar family, you already know we value this greatly.
Thanks to the DRGC project, now we can offer an even better quality of education to our students. The project’s only beginning so now’s the perfect time to learn more about it.
DRGC activities for all students at Jantar IH Split
The DRGC project, or Developing Responsible Global Citizens, is an initiative that aims to revolutionize language education. By allowing educators to create a curriculum around CHEDI (Community, Health, Environment, Diversity, and Innovation) topics, the DRGC project enables teachers and academic directors to develop the language learning environments we need today.
Known for its commitment to innovative teaching methods, Jantar IH Split is eagerly implementing the practices of the DRGC project into its teaching curricula. After recognizing the need to prepare students for the challenges of the 21st century, we are integrating the learning outcomes of the project into the syllabi.
As a result, Jantar IH Split offers its students a unique opportunity to learn languages in a dynamic and unique environment through the DRGC project.
And what does this exactly mean for the students?
Well, students can truly benefit a lot from these activities. From learning to think critically and value the opinions of their peers to becoming responsible members of the community, the DRGC activities are packed with all kinds of advantageous features. Through promoting diversity, collaborating on group activities, and raising awareness on some key global issues, students at Jantar IH Split are bound to gain a deeper understanding of just how important their choices are on a bigger scale.
Building the DRGC framework: The key project activity
As part of the overarching goal to cultivate responsible global citizens, Jantar IH Split participated in introducing a pivotal initiative through the DRGC project – the DRGC framework. This framework serves as a key project activity by aligning some of the most crucial global issues with CEFR language proficiency levels from A1 to C2. The best thing is that the CHEDI topics the DRGC framework focuses on align with the EU objectives.
We could say the DRGC Framework acts as a comprehensive guide, integrating language learning with the development of responsible global citizens. By creating a connection between these two, language learners at Jantar IH Split can acquire the needed language skills and simultaneously become aware, informed, and engaged individuals equipped to address global challenges.
Within the DRGC framework, each CEFR level is accompanied by specific themes related to responsible global citizenship and CHEDI. These themes are carefully curated to enable learners to explore various aspects of responsible citizenship and global interconnectedness. The themes include community engagement and collaboration, health and well-being, environmental sustainability, cultural diversity and inclusion, fostering innovation, and much more.
We’re thrilled to provide our students with the opportunity of developing into responsible global citizens. That said, we’re looking forward to introducing the DRGC framework for building our curricula, which will allow us to offer an even better education for all our students.
